Our Purpose

The Christian Church At Holbrook exists to GLORIFY GOD

This is accomplished three ways:

Keeping Jesus Christ First... Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. He has the highest priority in every aspect of our lives; as individuals and as a church. For His will to be done supersedes our own will and the will of others.
Building The Body... We teach the truth and purity of the Word of God as found in the Bible, God’s inspired word. Through that teaching believers grow in their relationship with Christ. From their relationship God will lead them to function as a part of the body and a witness in this world.
Spreading The Word... We spread the good news about Jesus Christ in our community through the word of mouth, our actions as we go about our daily lives. Through the word we can address the needs of both the spiritual and physical.

The CHRISTIAN CHURCH AT HOLBROOK

One thing is for sure — there is no shortage of churches. You can take your pick from among the hundreds of kinds and denominations. With all these choices, what makes our church so special?

We are a Christian church ~ Our message is that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. He alone is Savior and Lord.

We are a Bible church ~ We accept both the Old and New Testament as the inspired Word of God. Christian faith demands the best our minds can give, so we are a studying church seeking to apply Biblical truth to our lives. Because of that, we try to imitate New Testament precedents. That is why our Communion is every Lord’s Day. Our preaching and teaching are about Christ and our prayers are in Jesus’ name. Even our name is rooted in the earliest days of the church, when the disciples were first called Christians.

We are a worshipping church ~ Commitment to weekly celebrative worship of God is a privilege of the Christian life.

We are a caring church ~ Many members gather regularly in smaller groups for fellowship, care and Bible application.

We are a serving church ~ Because we believe that every Christian is gifted of God for some kind of ministry, we encourage our members to find an area of service. Our church consists of many ministers, who faithfully serve God through the church.

We are a growing church ~ We want to grow because we are under

Christ’s Commission to disciple the world.

OUR PURPOSE

WORSHIP - we are here to glorify God.
WITNESS - we proclaim Jesus, so the lost may see and find Him.
WALK - we nurture people to find and commit themselves to a personal walk with this same Jesus

OUR CHURCH HISTORY...

The Church was started in 1977 by a sister church in Nesconset. Several people felt that a Christian Church in Holbrook was needed to serve this community and it’s surrounding area. The Church attendance is growing and we invite you to come by for a visit to see what we are about and possibly worship with us on a regular basis.

The Christian Church at Holbrook is an independent, Non-denominational Christian Church. This simply means the church does not belong to any governing body outside the church. The church functions under the direction of a Steering Committee which is made up of qualified members.
