Missions
At the Christian Church at Holbrook, we understand that one of
the most important jobs, if not the most important job that we
have as a church and as Christians is to get the message of
Christ, of His salvation, love and the life that He gives, out into the world. Now
in doing this, we are sometimes limited by our lack of immediate resources in
Holbrook and/or our location. Fortunately, however, we have connections to a
those who can and do serve our worldly community, reaching the far
ends of the earth. Here now is a list of the missions that
the Christian Church at Holbrook monetarily supports, and a description of how
each is involved in doing the Lord’s work:
Go Ye Chapel Missions Inc.
Go Ye Chapel Missions is a church
planting organization entering its
52nd year of church planting. It is located in the greater metropolitan area of
New York City. For fifty two years, GYCM has held to their purpose of starting
healthy churches in the Northeast region of this country. GYCM provides
administration for the project, part of the start-up costs, and will be part of
the Project Management Team, providing accountability and oversight.
CrossRoads Christian Church of Bay Ridge in Brooklyn
Started by Go Ye Chapel Mission in
September of 1998, CrossRoads Christian Church serves as a Christian outreach to
the people of Brooklyn. Instrumental in the workings of this church are Paul
Curtis and his wife Carisa.
Catskill Christian Assembly located
in Prattsville in Upstate New York
Catskill Christian Assembly has been providing the
Christian camping experience for youths and adults since 1961. Mainly serving as
a youth camp during the summer, C.C.A. has changed many lives of people here on
Long Island. Dozens have given their lives to Christ because of the week or so
they have spent at "camp". Camp Manager Kenny Aurigema and his family
live at the camp year round and have dedicated their time and effort to
presenting Christ to all of the camp's visitors.
Ninos de Mexico
Ninos de Mexico is a group in Mexico
that takes in homeless children and provides food, clothing, shelter, and
education. Most importantly though, they teach the kids they are helping about
Jesus Christ through biblical studies.
Compassion International
Is a Christian child development organization, formed in 1952. Compassion
assists nearly 200,000 children in 21 countries throughout the world. They
insure that every child hears the Gospel and has the opportunity to learn more
about Jesus. They also offer educational opportunities, food, clothing, and
medical care as needed.
